Cages, by Kim Ulloa
A silver cage to hold my sorrow, a tarnished one holds my heart,
a small one holds the trust I have, with hinges falling apart;
The rusted ones hold my sadness, another holds my pain,
there’s one without a handle-this one drives me insane;
A shiny one holds my hope, an empty one is locked without a key,
The one hanging in the corner holds the love that no one will ever see.
